Defines terms most frequently used in relation to the sampling of materials for the determination of their physical and/or chemical characteristics. It is of a general nature, and does not contain terms for sampling in specialist areas, for which reference should be made to other specific Standards. Terms are also grouped according to sample identification, sampling and procedures and statistics of sampling. An index is provided.
