Describes procedures for the comparison of micrographic images with standard Jernkontoret or ASTM charts. Details are given for the preparation of test pieces, test procedures, assessment of the images, expression of results and the preparation of a test report. The charts are reproduced full size. An example of assessment of a micrographic field and calculation of an average field rating number are given in appendices.
