Covers dimensions, construction, fastenings and general quality requirements for a range of watertight and oiltight manholes with bolted covers for general shipboard use other than for pressure vessels, in three size series according to the major and minor axis of the oval opening in millimetres. Flush, pad and raised types are provided for, with provision also for a rectangular configuration in the raised type. Details are given of a typical levelling plate for flush type manholes and an appendix gives corresponding imperial unit values in steel bar, plates and fasteners for the metric units specified.
