Specifies thermometers, either straight or 90 and, in two temperature ranges viz. -5 to +50 C and -10 to +110 C. Requirements relate to materials, construction, graduation and figuring both on the thermometer tubes and the metal scale plates, accuracy, response time and marking. Appendices list approved thermometric glasses, and describe methods for determining scale error and repeatability of temperature readings.
